An innovative model for eco-cities designed according to integrated urban development strategies.

Charting the way towards balanced urban development

A model eco-city project

Mazagan City Center is a concrete example of the new national development strategy for urban centers promoted by the Ministry of Housing and Municipal Policy. This project of national importance is the result of a comprehensive approach to urban areas and economic, social and environmental integration. The benefits of the project are set to greatly contribute to future residents’ standard of living. It was envisioned by OCP Group and the Ministry of Economy and Finance via the Department of State Property, and aims not only to create a new urban center in El Jadida and Azemmour, but also to provide support for economic and social development in the regions where OCP Group operates, particularly by strengthening the Jorf Lasfar industrial platform.

In 2013, the two project partners created the Société d’Aménagement et de Développement de Mazagan S.A (SAEDM), responsible for implementing and managing this innovative model for eco-cities designed according to integrated urban development strategies.

By 2034, Mazagan City Center is expected to attract 134,000 residents to a 1,300-hectare area, which also includes 303 green spaces and woodland areas.
