The concept of sustainable development is a top priority of the Mazagan City Center planners. In fact, its completion will respect the necessity of controlled urbanization and facilitated mobility. Everything has been designed to command a perfect balance between conserving and enhancing the landscape, on one hand, and the built environment, on the other. SAEDM will therefore pay particular attention to the conservation of the site's forests. Within their midst, vegetation corridors will serve as natural borders between the different cores comprising the city center.
In addition to providing balance, this sectioning will be accompanied by a hierarchal division of traffic routes. For the concept of sustainable mobility to be more than a simple theoretical view, all city center components must be interconnected by direct roads accessible by foot and thereby encouraging the shortest possible travel distances.
